Astroworld Festival tragedy documentary to be released in April
Filmmaker Charlie Minn is set to release his documentary, 'Concert Crush: The Travis Scott Festival Tragedy', in April 2022.
HOUSTON, Texas – Filmmaker Charlie Minn is set to release his documentary, ‘Concert Crush: The Travis Scott Festival Tragedy’, in April 2022. Minn is hoping to bring awareness to the tragic events that happened at last November’s Astroworld Festival.
Astroworld Festival was a musical festival with headliner Travis Scott, the Houston native whose music has gained popularity over the past few years. Last November at the festival 10 people died after the densely packed crowd surged towards the stage, along with hundreds of injuries. Now a full-scale investigation is underway looking into the tragic events, with Scott under investigation as well as the event organizer, Live Nation.
Minn says that someone is yet to be held accountable for the loss of life, hoping that his film can spread awareness.
“To get right to the point we have ten losses of life here. Ten people were killed and no one’s being held accountable right now, in my opinion, someone should be sitting in jail,” says Minn.
Minn is also hoping to honor those who lost their lives at the festival as well as the survivors, with some of the people interviewed in the documentary being from Corpus Christi.
The film is set to release this April.
