Arrest made in connection to Amanda Johnson murder

Matagorda County District Attorney confirms a man was arrested related to the case

VICTORIA, Texas- Authorities arrested a man in connection to the Amanda Johnson murder case. The Matagorda County District Attorney confirms a man was arrested Friday morning. Further details are not available. 25 News Now has requested the arrest warrant and complaint.

On Sunday, April 18, 2021 around 2:30 a.m., the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office was called to CR 454 in Midfield, Texas. They found a burned vehicle with human remains inside. It was a 2018 Ford Explorer associated with a missing persons report on Amanda Johnson of Victoria. Amanda Johnson’s body was near the northwest side of Matagorda County, five miles from Jackson County.

Amanda Johnson was 38-years-old. She was a mother to two children.
