West, East Win

Here are Friday’s area volleyball scores.

West picks up its 20th win of the season by beating Industrial, 25-17, 25-14, 25-17. For the Warriors, Toni Ramirez had 12 kills, Madyson Dybala had 28 digs, and Kia Willborn had 18 assists.

East improves to 2-1 in district by beating Miller 25-10, 23-25, 25-10, 25-13. For the Titans, Zakari Perry had 13 kills, and Morgan Kimbrough had 13 assists.

Goliad lost in 5 games making overall record 14-10, Goliad will start district tuesday with taft.

IRVING – The Victoria College Pirates won two matches Friday at the DAC Fall Classic at North Lake College.

The Pirates (4-3) defeated Cedar Valley College 17-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-20 behind 14 kills from Pilar Garcia (Pasadena Memorial) and 11 from Ryndee Weishuhn (Columbus). Valerie De La Fuente (Mission Veterans Memorial) and Natalie Leal (Los Fresnos) each had 17 assists and Marianna Romero (San Antonio Warren) tallied 17 digs.

VC later swept Mountain View College 25-15, 25-21, 25-17. Weishuhn had six kills and Garcia added five. Leal posted 10 assists and Romero had nine digs.

The Pirates will play Southwest Community College at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and face Blinn College at 1:30 p.m.
