Area H.S. Football District Ranked Toughest In State

Ganado, Shiner In Rugged New 2A District

Last Year, Dave Campbell’s Texas Football called 13-3A Division I, with five area teams, as the toughest district in the state.

Now, after UIL Realignment and Reclassification last Monday, Dave Campbell’s Texas Football has a new toughest district in 2A Division I, and this also includes area teams. It’s district 13, a five-team district that includes Ganado and Shiner, along with Flatonia, Schulenburg and Weimar. All five teams made the playoffs last fall. The Shorthorns are the only team not to have double digit wins a year ago. The Comanches went 12-1 last season, suffering their only loss in a regionals barnburner to eventual state champion Refugio. The Indians finished at 10-4, ending their 3A Division II season in the state quarterfinals against East Bernard.
