Another Record Breaking Day of Heat

The heat continues throughout South Texas with strong high pressure. Similar to the last couple of weeks, I am not expecting any big changes from the heat. Monday we reached 99 degrees tying the record high set in 1990. Yesterday in Victoria, we reached 100 degrees. Tuesday, we may be very close to hitting a 100 degrees again. Heat index values are into the triple digits as well.

The upper high will slowly begin breaking down which will cool us off a few degrees by the second half of the work week. This weekend highs will be closer to 94 and 95 instead of 98 and 99. Moisture levels may also increase enough to where rain is possible. As of now, i kept the weekend dry. The tropics remain very quiet in the Atlantic. In the Eastern Pacific, there is a disturbance south of Mexico moving away from land.
