An arrest has been made in connection with the New Year’s Day shooting at the Icehouse
VPD officer who discharged firearm placed on administrative leave
VICTORIA, Texas- a 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting on New Year’s Day at the Icehouse Sports Bar and Grill. The Victoria Police Department sent a statement to Crossroads today confirming that with the assistance from the U.S. Marshal Service Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force, they arrested Jose Camacho.
The investigation led to a warrant for the arrest of Camacho, charging him with Deadly Conduct.
Twenty-eight-year-old Palacios resident, Edgar A. Corona, was injured after an altercation at the Icehouse where shots were fired.

Officers saw Camacho driving a car on January 5th and attempted to stop him, however, Camacho did not yield. After a car chase that ended on the 300 block of Chamrad lane in Victoria County, Camacho finally got out of the car and was arrested.
At the time of the arrest Camacho was arrested for the following charges:
- Deadly Conduct (warrant)
- No Driver’s License (warrant)
- Tampering With Evidence
- Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 1G<4G
- Evading in a Vehicle
- Possession of Marijuana <2oz
Camacho is being held at the Victoria County Jail with no bond.
The investigation is ongoing. VPD confirms that the officer who discharged their firearm at the Icehouse has been placed on administrative leave.
