Amber Sorensen sentenced to 25 years for the death of her boyfriend
EDNA, Texas — After two days the sentencing phase has finally come to an end with the jury handing down a 25-year sentence to Amber Sorensen formally convicted of Enhanced Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury to a Family or Household Member.
The jury resumed deliberation at 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning and in a little over an hour a verdict was reached.
For the past two weeks Amber Sorensen has been on trial in Jackson County for the murder of her boyfriend Jarrett Parker. The jury deliberated for days after hearing from experts and family alike.
Sorensen will not be issued a fine.
