Alumni Soccer Scrimmages at Memorial Stadium

East Boys' and Girls' Soccer Kick Off 2019

East Titans soccer is wasting little time getting their 2019 started.

East boys’ and girls’ soccer teams both held their alumni scrimmages Tuesday evening at Memorial Stadium, giving former Titans the chance to come back and compete against current varsity players. The exhibitions mark the final tune up before both Titans’ teams get ready to suit up for their season openers later this week.

“They’re just excited, they’re ready to get going,” said boys’ head coach Josh Chaput. “They’re just looking forward to playing opponents instead of themselves.”

Chaput’s Titans will travel to Kerrville on Thursday to open up their season in tournament play. Despite the loss of fifteen seniors from last year’s district-winning team, his staff remains confident.

“Well this group lost a lot of seniors last year, “longtime Titans head coach and current assistant Tim Eaton said. “But they’re very talented, they have great potential. As the season goes on, they’re going to become more seasoned.”

The Titan girls team also held an alumni scrimmage, as they prepare for their season opener against Gregory Portland.
