After This Morning’s Chill, the Warming is Underway

Canadian high pressure over the Crossroads this morning allowed temperatures to fall into the lower 30s, but that dome of dry air is moving east. As the system pulls away from South Texas, expect southerly flow to moderate temperatures and return Gulf moisture. Look for highs in the 70s to near 80 the second half of this week, with rain chances (albeit slight) beginning as early as Thursday. A weak front eases the warmth a bit on Saturday, but a strong one arrives midday Monday to induce scattered thunderstorms and send the mercury down for Tuesday.
