After Abundant Rains, A Quiet Beginning to the Week

Following the departure of a tropical disturbance that brought beneficial rains to the area, South Texas once again has been encased by an upper level ridge that has ended significant rain chances. This time, however, the ridge will be transient and migrate into the Deep South by late week. A series of upper level disturbances will combine with tropical moisture (partially remnants from Isaac) to create another opportunity for significant rainfall Thursday through Saturday. Isolated showers will linger through the first of next week. The tropical Atlantic Basin once again has become eerily quiet.
