Active shooter ‘neutralized’ at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi

Naval Air Station still under lockdown status

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas- A shooter at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi has been neutralized according to a statement released by NAS Corpus Christi.

Around 6:15 a.m. all gates were closed in response to an active shooter. The NCIS and local law enforcement responded to the scene.

“NAS Corpus Christi is now in a lockdown status.” A post on Facebook advised people to take shelter immediately. “There is an active shooter in the vicinity of the North Gate. If you are in or near the North Gate get out and away to safety. Execute lockdown procedures — remain indoors and away from windows.”

While the shooter has been neutralized, the Naval Air Station is still on lockdown mode and it is not safe to move around.
