According to the International Dairy Food Association, most ice cream companies are family-owned

I’m here at H-E-B celebrating National Ice Cream Day by eating Creamy Creations Ice Cream.

Jessica Gonzales H-E-B GM Lead said, “We’re having the participants eat a half-pint of our 1905 ice cream, and we’re going to have ice cream theme demo’s during the day”.

H-E-B allowed customers to have an ice cream eating contest throughout the day. The 1st and second place winner won a year of half a gallon of ice cream.

“H-E-B gives me the opportunity to have a great time and have our customers enjoy or store, so we take the opportunity at any National event to kind of help celebrate with our customers and shoppers and give them a chance to have fun at our store and build that excitement with our community,” said Gonzales.

The International Dairy Food Association states that ice cream companies are mostly family-owned. They also provide more than 26,000 thousand jobs and generate 1.6 billion dollars to pay their employee’s.

“President Regan actually made it a National Holiday he designated July as National Ice Cream month but the third Sunday of the month is as National Ice Cream Day,” said Gonzales.

In President Ronald Regan proclamation he stated, that all people should observe this day with appreciation ceremonies and activities.
