VICTORIA, Texas – A Victoria County jury sentenced 51-year-old Luis Caballero, of Victoria, to 40 years in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (the official name for the state prison system) after finding him guilty of continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14 on April 20, 2022.
Evidence showed that Caballero repeatedly sexually abused a 6-year-old child over a four-month period in 2018 when he was her babysitter.
Chief Felony Assistant District Attorney, Jordan G. Fries, and Assistant DA, Zachary A. Miles prosecuted the case.
A prison sentence for this offense must be served day for day, therefore Caballero will not be eligible for parole.
