A new nontraditional high school could be coming to Bloomington soon

BLOOMINGTON, Texas–Bloomington is looking to open another school that will be a nontraditional high school so that students who have to take care of their parents and need jobs can still get the help they need so they can still graduate high school.

Mark Anglin the Bloomington I.S.D. Superintendent said, “For example, if they have a job, they may be able to come in from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. to attend High School, or they may come from 7: 30 a.m. to noon. So were going to make a very flexible schedule for those kids. They have the opportunity to work in interns, hopefully with some of the plants around Bloomington or if they want to go to college, one of the things were going to make sure that we offer to all our students is that if they want to go to college, were going to pay for their college.”

Anglin also mentioned that if the student fails one of the courses they will be required to reimburse the district.
