A man in Goliad was shot over personal dispute

Goliad County Deputies are investigating a shooting that happened near the Bee County line, late Sunday afternoon.

Deputies responded to FM 2441 about three miles south of Clip Road after receiving a 911 call that a man had been shot in the head. The victim, who’s name was not released, was then air lifted to San Antonio Medical Center.

Upon further investigation, police found the shooting had occurred at a ranch in the 16000 block of FM 2441. According to police, the victim had gone to that location to confront the 44-year-old property owner over a personal dispute.

Police also stated in a press release that the property owner armed himself with a pistol and fired multiple shots at the victim, all the while, the victim was sitting in his pickup truck. One of the shots penetrated the windshield and struck the victim in the head.

The press release also stated that the victim remained conscious and drove himself eight miles toward Goliad before he pulled off of the road to ask for help.

Deputies located and arrested the shooter at his home without incident. The suspect is being held at the Goliad County Jail and is being charged with aggravated assault.
