A look at the early voting turnout in the joint general election
Early Voting will be from April 19 to April 27th
VICTORIA, Texas – Day three of early voting for the Victoria joint general election started today and stats show that voter turnout is strong.
So far 774 people have voted in person and 1783 people voted by mail. We spoke with elections administrator, Margetta Hill, on voter turnout compared to previous elections.
“It’s been about the same, the numbers of the voters coming out is a little bit better because we’re coming out of the presidential year and people have voting on their minds,” said Hill.
In total, 2557 people have voted in the general election which is only 5.1% of the 49,283 eligible voters in Victoria.
Voting for the general election is taking place at the Dr. Pattie Dodson Public Health Center.
All COVID-19 guidelines are in place to ensure voter safety. There’s also curbside voting for those who are physically unable to vote inside.
