9-year-old battling cancer sworn into the Victoria Police Department
VPD Chief Robert Arredondo swears in Keimryn Lee
VICTORIA, Texas – On Thursday, the Victoria Police Department had the honor of swearing-in 9-year-old Victoria resident, Keimryn Lee. VDP described Keimryn as “a true warrior and fighter who is battling cancer” in a Facebook post on Thursday.
Keimryn has dreamed of becoming a police officer. According to VPD, when asked why she wanted to be a police officer, Keimryn replied, “To fight the bad guys and keep the community safe.”
Victoria Police Department Chief Robert Arredondo swore in Officer Keimryn. Her family was in attendance for the ceremony. VPD gifted Keimryn with the following:
- a “just her size” uniform,
- a shadow box with patches and pins,
- a gift basket,
- a card signed by members of her new VPD family
- and a brand new never-before-seen VPD challenge coin.
