5 arrested in Yoakum after shooting at Leatherwood Terrace Apartments
YOAKUM, Texas- Yoakum Police Chief, Karl Van Slooten, released a statement regarding the arrest of five individuals for the shooting at Leatherwood Terrace Apartment Complex on December 27, 2019.
Richard Horn (28 Yr) was arrested Jan 15, 2020 at the Yoakum Police Department on a warrant for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and transported to the Lavaca County Jail.
Damascus Brooks (20YR) and Robert Garza Jr (27Yr) were arrested Thursday evening Jan. 16 in the 200 blk of Willis St, (Yoakum) on warrants for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity and transported to the Lavaca County Jail.
Tyron Brooks (19YR) was arrested on warrants for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity at the Gonzales County Jail where is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges.
Tevin Hights (28YR) was arrested Thursday evening Jan 16, in the 400 blk of Clark St (Yoakum) on a warrant for Criminal Trespass and transported to the Lavaca County Jail.
These arrests are based on the ongoing investigation into the shooting incident where Richard Horn and Tevin Hights were shot during a dispute in the parking lot.
The Yoakum Police Department is still currently investigating this incident and expect additional charges to be filed.
