VICTORIA, Texas – A funeral is planned for a 4-year-old boy killed in a major crash in San Antonio last Friday. Aurelius Marceau Vincent Ortiz Romo was a pre-K student at Our Lady of Victory Catholic School.
The major crash report released by the San Antonio Police Department said the double fatal crash happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 13,500 block of IH 37 S. on Nov. 4, 2022. The report said someone called 911 to report a black Land Rover was going northbound near mile marker 125 and the driver was all over the road. Other vehicles had to go onto the shoulders to stay safe.
A short time later a second call was made to 911 to report a crash. The caller said a black SUV hit the guardrail at IH 37 S. northbound past Loop 1604. The SUV went into a grassy area and fell off an embankment coming to rest on the train tracks. That’s when a train passed and collided with the SUV. The driver and child passenger Aurelius were killed in the crash.
The San Antonio press is reporting the driver was Aurelius’ father. San Antonio Police did not release his name.
