34-year-old Victoria woman arrested, charged following vehicle pursuit
Law enforcement identified the suspect as Cherish Norman
VICTORIA, Texas – Local law enforcement arrested and charged Cherish Noman, of Victoria, with three counts early Monday morning following a vehicle pursuit.
On Monday, Oct. 31, at approximately 3:43 a.m., the Port Lavaca Police Department alerted the Victoria Police Department about a reported stolen vehicle possible being in Victoria. PLPD described the stolen vehicle as a blue Mercedes GLK.
Shortly after the alert, a VPD officer observed the Mercedes near Rio Grande Street at Lova Drive. The officer then conducted a felony stop when the vehicle sped off, initiating a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit came to an end after law enforcement deployed “spike strips”, making the vehicle inoperable at 1600 E. Juan Linn St.
The driver, who was the only occupant, then exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers soon apprehended the suspect and identified her as 34-year-old Cherish Norman. They arrested and charged Norman with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle and Evading Arrest or Detention.
