26-year-old Refugio woman arrested for stolen vehicle
Jackson County Sheriff's Office assisted with the arrest
JACKSON COUNTY, Texas – On Tuesday, at approximately 2 p.m. the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Edna Police Department with a traffic stop located at the Jackson Inn Hotel. During the traffic stop, EPD located several undocumented immigrants inside the vehicle.
During the assist, JCSO received a call from the Victoria Police Department regarding a stolen vehicle inside the city limits of Victoria. The stolen vehicle was traveling northbound on Highway US 59, north of Inez. Officials described the vehicle as a Silver 2018 Toyota Highlander.
JCSO Deputies then located the vehicle traveling northbound on US Highway, near FM 822. The deputies conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle and identified the driver as a 26-year-old female from Refugio.
Deputies then placed the driver under arrest for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. They subsequently remanded the female suspect to the Victoria Police Department. VPD then booked her into the Victoria County jail. Officials also released the vehicle to the registered owner.
