2019 hurricane storm names released
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration released 21 potential storm names for the 2019 Hurricane Season, which is set to begin on June 1.
Last year, the Atlantic hurricane season had 15 named storms, with eight strong enough to be classified as hurricanes.
AccuWeather forecasters are predicting the 2019 hurricane season to be busier than normal with 12-14 storms.
Five to seven of these storms are predicted to become hurricanes and two to four are forecasted to become major hurricanes.
Newcenter 25’s Sunrise Meteorologist, Trey Meynig, is currently at the National Tropical Weather Conference in South Padre Island.
He will go live on CrossroadsToday Facebook page with Dr. Phil Klotzbach’s hurricane prediction presentation at 10:45 a.m. Watch here.
