2 Calhoun High School students hit by truck on Sandcrab Blvd
PORT LAVACA, Texas — At 11:15 Monday morning, two Calhoun High School students were jogging on Sandcrab Boulevard when they got hit by a red truck.
According to Superintendent Larry Nichols, the collision happend in front of the school while the students were jogging with the high school boys soccer team.
The soccer team was running behind a van driven by the coash on the side of Sandcrab Boulevard.
Both students were taken to Citizen’s Medical in Victoria. One student sustained a shoulder injury and should be released by the end of the day; The other sustained head injuries, and will remain in the hospital.
Nichols says the driver of the red truck did stop and was questioned by police.
The names, ages and grade level of the students are unavailable at this time. Newscenter 25 reached out to the Port Lavaca Police Department and are waiting for a response.
