16.1 million people expected to fly Labor Day weekend

Labor Day travel is expected to increase this year and fast food restaurants are setting their bets on breakfast. Our Jasmine Haynes explains in today’s business report.

The number of labor day weekend travelers is expected to jump 5 % from last year’s record.

A strong economy and low unemployment are boosting travel numbers.

Overall, an estimated 16.1 million people are expected to fly between Wednesday, August 30th and Tuesday, September 5th.

Friday, Thursday and Monday are expected to be the busiest travel days.

Fast food restaurants are banking on breakfast.

Chick-fil-a unveiled a new hash brown scramble available in a breakfast bowl or a burrito for $3.49.

It has scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, cheese, jalapeno salsa and a choice of sliced nuggets or sausage.

Taco Bell is adding an egg taco to it’s morning meal options. choose potatoes, bacon or sausage with cheese in a fried egg “shell”.
