Case numbers drop in VISD, Victoria County
VICTORIA, Texas—The Victoria County Public Health Department said there are 14 new COVID-19 cases recorded on Friday.

The state reports 313 people in Victoria County have died from this disease. That’s the same number reported on Thursday.
The health department tells us that since June 24, 87.10% of the new COVID-19 cases in the county are among the unvaccinated.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in VISD continues to drop.
As of yesterday, VISD reports there are 25 COVID-19 current cases among students. That’s a drop of 69 student cases in a week, and a drop of 224 student cases over the past month. There are 991 total student COVID-19 cases since VISD opened for the fall semester on August 18.
There are three COVID-19 current cases among VISD staff. That’s 14 less than last week and 37 fewer than three weeks ago. Since the VISD school year started, there have been 166 staff COVID-19 cases reported. Ashley Scott of VISD told me that they won’t know until next week if VISD is dropping down to Level two.
COVID-19 daily new cases have dropped drastically in Victoria County from August to September.
This information from Victoria County Public Health Department director David Gonzales. In August, 1,891 new COVID-19 cases in Victoria County, a rise of over 1,500 new cases in one month. In September, there were 1,188 new cases in Victoria County, a one month drop of 703 cases. The county averaged 39.6 new cases per day in September.
