Cuero Football Heads To The Regional

Posted: Updated:

To the surprise of probably no one, Cuero football is in round three of the 4A Division II playoffs.
Also not surprising, the Gobblers dominated their area playoff opponent. Cuero beat Rio Hondo, 56-0, to pick up its tenth straight win. This time, Chance Albrecht stepped up with 102 yards and four touchdowns. Michael Barta threw for three scores, and the Mean Freen defense held Rio Hondo to under 100 yards total offense. Head coach Travis Reeve, telling me how pleased he was with his team's all-around domination. "I thought our kids really played well against a good Rio Hondo team. We had talked about all week that we needed to be ready for anything. We needed to make sure we brought our A-game. Fortunately we did that. We did some different things and I thought our kids responded really well to and played a really good all-around football game."
