Wednesday Area High School Football Schedule Changes Due To Weather

More area high school football games have been rescheduled due to anticipated weather problems. East's Homecoming game vs. Miller at Memorial Stadium, moved to Thursday night at 7:00.  Edna football's home game against Brazosport, moved to Thursday night at 7:00.  

The Hallettsville Brahmas Homecoming football game against Rice has been moved to Thursday night at 7:00 p.m..  The JV and Junior High games have been canceled. Pep Rally will be on Thursday at 3:05. Bloomington football's home game in Port Lavaca against Louise, moved to Thursday night at 7:30.  Shiner football's home game against Burton, moved to Thursday night at 7:30.

Dear Faith Academy Families,
With the uncertainty of the weather, the varsity football game scheduled for Friday has been moved to tomorrow Thursday, September 13, at 7:00pm, at Patti Welder Stadium. 
This game will NOT be our homecoming game but is considered a "regular" game. Our homecoming game will be moved to Friday, October 12th, with the homecoming dance on Saturday October 13th.  
The Varsity Volleyball game against the Cobras will be at 5:30pm, tomorrow Thursday, September 13th, at the NextGen Building. (Mockingbird Campus).
The junior high football game scheduled for Friday has been cancelled and will be rescheduled to a later date. 

Here are more VISD sports schedule changes: East sophomore football game vs. West B team, canceled.  East freshman A football game vs. Miller, canceled. East football junior varsity game vs. Miller at Cabaniss in Corpus, canceled.  West football ninth grade B team game vs. Calhoun,  won by the Sandcrabs Wednesday, 24-0. All East sub-varsity football games for this week have been canceled. West football junior varsity B vs. East at Memorial Stadium, canceled. West football ninth grade A team playing Moody in Corpus at Moody high school, ending in a 26-26 tie Wednesday. West football JV A team vs. Moody, moved to 6:30 tonight (Wednesday) at Moody high school. West football junior varsity B team vs. Calhoun tonight (Wednesday) at 7:30 at Calhoun. 

Please note that the West Varsity Tennis match vs CC Miller @ Miller schedule for Thursday 9-13 has been moved to Today Wednesday 9-12 starting at 5 pm at Miller HS.

Tickets, for Victoria East vs CC Miller on Thur., September 13, at 7:00 PM, at Memorial Stadium, will be on sale at the VISD Athletic Office located at 3001 Miori Lane, Wednesday, September 12, through Thursday, September 13, from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm.  Ticket prices are $7.00 for reserved, $6.00 general admission, and $4.00 for students.  A limited number of pre-paid parking passes will be sold for $2.00.  All tickets at the gate are $8.00.

Tickets for Victoria West vs CC Moody, at Flour Bluff, are $5.00 for adult general admission, and $3.00 student tickets.   All tickets at the gate are $7.00.

      A pair of area gymnasts keep making serious waves overseas. Krista McNary and Brooke Warzecha finished fourth in the world in the synchronized trampoline at the World Age Group Games in St. Petersburg, Russia this weekend.     • West Girls' Basketball Finishes Third in McAllen Tournament

      The West girls' basketball team continued its strong start to the season this weekend, finishing third out of 52 total teams at the McAllen Varsity Tournament. After falling to San Antonio Clark to start play on Saturday, the Warriors rallied in their second contest, defeated Harlingen High School, 76-42, to clinch the third spot behind 23 points from Kennedy Youngblood.     • Refugio Drubs Yorktown, Advances to Area Round

      The Bobcats' offense looks like it can't be stopped. Refugio defeated Yorktown 75-0 in Karnes City on Friday, marking the sixth straight week the team has eclipsed the 55-point threshold. The Bobcats have posted 75 points or more three times during that stretch.  Refugio dominated from start to finish in the 2A division I bi-district, scoring 42 unanswered points in the first half to put the game out of reach early.  Next up for the Bobcats will be an area round clash aga...
    • Industrial takes on Rice Consolidated

      Industrial football, looking to make as long a run as its volleyball team did in the playoffs. Our David Gibson, at Ricebird stadium for the Cobras and Rice Consolidated, 3a division one bi-district. First play of the game Rice's Devin Sims takes the hand off and runs for a big gain before being tackled.  On the same drive the Raiders running back takes the ball and barrels his way all the way down to the 2 yard line.

    • Yoakum Pulls Away Late, Beats Columbus

      It wasn't pretty at times, but the Bulldogs got it done.  Yoakum beat Columbus, 30-13, in Hallettsville on Friday, pulling away in the fourth quarter to punch their ticket to the area round for the second consecutive season.
