Drug dealer busted after running from police

On Tuesday, 09/11/2018, approximately 9:00 PM, the Victoria Police Department SWAT team executed a search warrant on a residence in the 2500 block of Booker St. Lesslie Lamar, 40, ran from the location and was apprehended and arrested a short time later.

As a result of the search warrant, powder cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, synthetic marijuana, ecstasy, currency, and a vehicle were seized.

Lamar was transported to the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office Jail and charged with Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG1 (two counts), Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG2, Possession of Marijuana, and Evading Arrest or Detention with Previous Convictions. Bond has not yet been set for Lamar.

Chief J.J. Craig stated, “This is another example of the fine police work of our officers getting these drugs and a drug dealer off of the streets of Victoria.”
