Goliad Football Shuts Out Refugio

Posted: Updated:

Now to one of the biggest high school football games in the state this week.
I was in Refugio, as the Bobcats, top-ranked in state 2A, took on Goliad, fourth ranked in state 3A. The Tigers now on their first drive of the first quarter. Senior All-State quarterback Rocky Morris, flushed out of the pocket,  that's a 16-yard gain to the Refugio 30.  Later in the drive, Morris, with the pump fake, then finds Shaun Justice, and it's Justice for....24 yards to the Refugio nine. Very next play, Morris fakes to Logan Bland, the defense goes that way, Rocky goes the other way, into the end zone. Goliad up 7-0, 6:56, left first quarter. The Tigers would take a 21-0 halftime lead, and they would go on to beat Refugio 35-0. The Tigers 2-0 on the season, the Bobcats 1-1.
