Laurent Street at Juan Linn to close beginning Monday

Posted: Updated:

VICTORIA, TEXAS - The intersection of Laurent Street at Juan Linn Street will close beginning Monday, September 10 due to utility and road construction.

Traffic on South Laurent Street will divert around the intersection via a marked detour utilizing Port Lavaca Drive and SW Ben Jordan Street. Juan Linn Street will remain open to one lane of traffic in each direction during construction.

The road closure is required to replace a sanitary sewer main and repair the pavement disturbed during construction.  The construction and closure of Laurent Street is expected to be completed in ten (10) days, weather permitting.

All businesses in the construction zone will remain open and accessible, and the public is encouraged to support businesses in the work zone.  Through-traffic can avoid delays in the work zone by seeking alternate routes.

This construction is part of the $215,681 Juan Linn Sanitary Sewer Improvements Project (Rae St. to S. Laurent St.). The contractor is J&R Contracting Services, Inc. of Victoria, Texas.

For more information, contact the Public Works Department at 485-3340.
