Heath Sherman Held a Football Camp Saturday in El Campo

Posted: Updated:

Former El Campo Running Back Heath Sherman held a football camp Saturday morning. Sherman played college football for Texas A&I but now is called Texas A&M Kingsville. Sherman also had a career with the Philadelphia Eagles. Saturday was Sherman's second football camp. He is hopeful that he can continue having camps yearly. Sherman told me that while he was growing up he didn't have these camps around to teach him the technique and safety of the game.

I talked with Sherman and other coaches to get their thoughts on what they wanted the kids to get out of today's event. "They are going to get out very hard work. You can do anything," said Sherman. "Football is life because it teaches you so much. It teaches you discipline, obedience, teaches you how to sacrifice, just being team oriented," said Jerrell Barron.
