A Palacios man dies after a three vehicle crash in Jackson County Wednesday morning.

Joseph Sertuche, 31, of Houston, was driving a 2001 Mack truck pulling a 2006 semi trailer southbound on FM 1862. Christopher Wade Wright, 26, of Palacios was driving behind Sertuche in a 2001 white Chevy Silverado pickup truck.

Sertuche slowed down to turn right on FM Road 463. Wright failed to control his speed and sideswiped the semi trailer. Wright then lost control and veered into oncoming traffic.

Edwin Woodrow Cash, 65, of Palacios, driving a 2015 Dodge Ram pickup truck with passenger, Joyce Booker Cash, 71, of Palacios, was traveling North on FM 1826 when Wright veered into oncoming traffic. Cash hit Wright's truck on the driver's side door.

Wright spun out of control and into a ditch on the side of the road. Cash came to rest on FM 1826. Sertuche was able to turn into County Road 463 and stop.

Wright was pronounced dead on scene at 8:36 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Darren Stancik. Sertuche and Edwin Cash were treated and released at the scene. Joyce Cash was taken to Citizens Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
