At the state meet this month, Alisa picked up 34 points, second best at state, after winning the long jump, winning silver in the pole vault and 400 meter relay, and taking bronze in the hundred and 200 meter dashes. I talked with Alisa and St. Joe track's head coach,, Manuel DeLaGarza. Said Novosad, "I first want to thank everyone who got me here today. My family and friends just helped me to work harder and just keep pushing through. The fact that an offer came is just a really big accomplishment." Said coach DeLaGarza, "This is just great for our program and our school. It's great for the underclassmen to witness this. What Alisa has accomplished is just all around great for our school."
