Isolated Showers Today With Thunderstorms Returning By Weekend
Temperatures this morning starting off on the mild side with 60s and 70s area wide. Highs are expected to rise into the lower to middle 80s. A weak cold front is on its way from North Texas. Moisture is limited so I am not expecting widespread rains throughout the region today. I believe the best chance to find rain will be along the coast line. Thursday will be a nice afternoon with high pressure overhead and temperatures remaining in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Friday will be the beginning of changes.
A strong upper system will slowly move across Texas to provide showers and storms. Rain and storms will begin Friday night. The best chance of seeing storms will be on Saturday. It is possible some storms may be either strong or severe. The Storm Prediction Center has outlined portions of Central Texas for seeing strong storms. However, some of the models is not showing large values of instability which fuels storms. We will continue to monitor the latest trends over the next few days. The cold front will pass the Crossroads late Saturday night into early Sunday morning.
Sunday into early next week looks great with plenty of sunshine. Highs over the next seven days in the 70s and 80s with lows in the 50s and 60s.
