Blue Bell Ice Cream makes return to Louisville, Lexington and more

BRENHAM, Texas, March 12, 2018 – Blue Bell Ice Cream will be available in grocery stores in Louisville, Lexington and the surrounding cities beginning on Monday, March 12.  (Cities listed below.)

“We are glad to be back and excited to be in a position to expand our sales territory,” said Wayne Hugo, vice president, sales and marketing for Blue Bell. “With the addition of Louisville, Lexington and the surrounding areas, you will now be able to find Blue Bell products across most of Kentucky. We are extremely thankful for the warm welcome back from so many of you.”

Blue Bell has reopened its distribution facility located in LaGrange to service the area. “We have about 20 employees on staff at this time,” Hugo said. “Initially, we will bring in additional employees from other states to help with the opening. It could take up to two weeks to deliver our products to every store that is selling Blue Bell.”

Ice cream fans can look for Blue Bell at Buehler’s, Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, Crossroads IGA, Houchens Markets, Ken’s Fresh Foods, Meijer, Price Less, Schnucks, ValuMarket, Walmart and Wesselman’s.  If you cannot find Blue Bell in the ice cream section, be sure to check with the store manager.

Blue Bell offers a complete line-up of products including more than 40 flavors of ice cream, Light and No Sugar Added selections, sherbet and frozen snacks. The company’s most popular flavor, since it was released in 1969, is Homemade Vanilla. The ice cream is described as a rich, homemade-tasting vanilla ice cream with a special hand-cranked flavor that some say is the best in the country.

    A death row inmate who was part of the notorious "Texas 7" gang of escaped prisoners has received an execution date for late this summer. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice says they've received documents setting 45-year-old Joseph Garcia for lethal injection August 30th. On Christmas Eve 2000, Garcia and six co-defendants fatally shot a 31-year-old police officer while on escape from the Connally Unit. To learn more click here.
