It was a Saturday to celebrate for a Cuero football star. At a special party in Daule Park in Cuero, Jordan Whittington announced that he had committed to sign with Texas.
Among the honors for Whittington last season, he made the Texas AP Sports Editors 4A All-State football team twice. The junior is second team wide receiver after leading the Mean Green with 73 catches for 1457 yards and 16 touchdowns. Whittington also got honorable mention at defensive back after tying for the team lead with three interceptions. Whittington makes the Max Preps Junior All-America First Team as an all-purpose player. He had nearly two thousand yards of total offense to go with 21 touchdowns. Whittington was also named First Team All-State as a wide receiver by the Texas Sports Writers Association.
