UHV women’s golf takes seventh at the Lion Invitational hosted by A&M-Commerce.

The University of Houston-Victoria women’s golf team remained in seventh place Tuesday at the Lion Invitational at Tanglewood hosted by Texas A&M-Commerce.

The Jaguars posted a final round 379 to finish at 751 following Monday’s 372 team score.

First-round leader Angelo State captured the team title with a 321-324-645, with Tyler Junior College finishing second at 335-317-652. Western Texas College placed third with a 330-329-659.

Viviana Yzquierdo paced the Jaguars with a top-20 finish as she posted rounds of 92-83-175 to finish 19th. Leah Lerma posted rounds of 95-84-179, while Jocelyn Villafranca posted an 89-96-185 and Jo Ellen Canales a 113-116-229. Reid Whaley had to withdraw from the final round for the Jaguars.

Western Texas’ Kiana Oshire claimed the individual title with a 75-78-153, two strokes ahead of Tyler’s Mathlide (75-80-155) and Angelo State’s Methilde Revilliod (76-79-155).

The Jaguars will return to action March 12-13 at the Le Tourneau Yellow Jacket Spring Invitational.
