H.S. Basketball Playoff Info

Posted: Updated:

Big start to the playoffs for VISD girls basketball Tuesday night. Both the West and East girls treated the Gonzales high school gym like it was their home court. The Warrior girls won by 13 over Edison, while the Titan girls blasted Lanier by 32 points. That puts both those teams in the Area round. This time, there will be a change. Both those local teams will not be playing in the same gym Friday night. The West girls will face Kerrville Tivy in the Area round at 6:00 in Floresville. Tivy ended the East girls season last year in the Area round. The Titan girls will be back in Gonzales for the Area round Friday night at 7:00. They will face Austin high. That's the team that ended the West girls season in the Area playoffs last year. Edna boys basketball wins district over Palacios. The Cowboys got 27 points and a game-wnning three at the buzzer from Kenny Haynes. The Edna boys start the 3A playoffs next Tuesday night at 6:00 against Schulenburg in Yoakum. TAPPS 2A Bi-District doubleheader Saturday afternoon at the Faith Academy Nextgen Center. The Faith girls, in their first post-season trip since making the state final four five years ago, start the playoffs in game one at 1:00 against Bryan Allen Academy. In game two, the Faith Academy boys have their first hoops playoff in four years. The Cougars host Conroe Covenant Saturday afternoon at 4:30.
