Mid-Coast Family Services and VAHC to reopen warming shelter

Posted: Updated:

It is predicted that real-feel temperatures will drop below freezing January 12-13. The Victoria Area Homeless Coalition is preparing to help homeless in need of shelter by providing a warming shelter at Pine Street Community Center, 803 N. East Street. The warming shelter will open each night at 6 p.m. and close at 8 a.m. each day. If  freezing temperatures continue we will extend the warming shelter as needed. VAHC will need volunteers to staff the shelter and will accept monetary donations to support warming shelter expenses. To request shelter, additional details, or to volunteer, please contact Lisa Griffin at 361-575-7842 or at 361-935-1451
