Victoria Salvation Army thrift store to open Friday

Posted: Updated:

The Salvation Army thrift store plans to reopen this Friday after suffering major wind and water damage from Hurricane Harvey.
Their thrift store, kitchen, administrative office and shelter sustained damages. The Salvation Army has lost about $4,500 per month due to the thrift store being closed to the public.
"We are very interested in being open by Friday because during this hurricane season we have lost a lot of revenue from the sales we would normally have in the store. We're still paying our employees we're still paying insurance, we're still paying our property. We're still functioning however we're not gaining a lot of revenue. So we need to get back open and get that going," said Salvation Army Major, Laura Martin.

The've gotten funds from the Salvation Army headquarters for Harvey damages and are still working on the roof replacement.
The thrift store will reopen this Friday.
