UHV Golf Announces Spring Schedule

Posted: Updated:

UHV golf has a busy spring planned.

After a weather-shortened fall season, the University of Houston-Victoria men’s and women’s golf teams hope to be a little more active in the spring.

The Jaguars had two of their four tournaments cancelled in the fall due to the weather, including their own UHV Fall Classic, after Hurricane Harvey struck the Victoria area.

Both teams now have four tournaments scheduled leading up to their conference tournaments in April.

The UHV women swing into action first when they compete in the Jack Brown Memorial Women’s Invitational hosted by Texas A&M-International on Feb. 4-6.

Both teams then jump into action on Feb. 17-19 when they host the sixth-annual Claud Jacobs Collegiate Invitational on Feb. 17-19.

The women will then compete twice in March playing in the Lion Women’s Invitational hosted by Texas A&M-Commerce on March 4-6 and the Yellow Jacket Spring Invitational hosted by Le Tourneau University on March 11-13.

The Jaguars will then compete in the Sooner Athletic Conference Championships on April 19-22 before taking part in the 2018 PGA Minority Championship on May 10-13.

The UHV will follow the Claud Jacobs event at the South Padre Intercollegiate hosted by Sterling College on Feb. 25-27 and then compete in the Yellow Jacket Spring Invitational on March 11-13.

Final action for the Jaguars before the conference tournament comes at the Bearkat Invitational hosted by Sam Houston State University on April 1-3. The conference tournament is scheduled for April 29-May 1 in Phoenix, Ariz.

The Jaguars wrap up the regular season at the 2018 PGA Minority Championship on May 10-13 in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
