East Boys Basketball Loses At Port Aransas

Another sign south Texas is healing after Harvey, and East boys basketball was there to help.
The Titans played at Port Aransas Monday night in the first hoops game there at the high school since Harvey hit there just over three months ago. Port Aransas jumped out to a 12-0 lead. Ed Clay led the Titans with 13 points, but they lost, 61-43, making it even more of a joyous night for a city that was ravaged by Harvey and will be recovering for a long time. East boys basketball starts play Thursday in the La Feria tournament.


High school basketball Saturday final scores. East girls get a win at the Buda Hays tournament, 63-37 over Round Rock McNeil.
Imani Wimbish-Gay led the titans with 25 points, 13 for Leilani Wimbish-Gay. 
West girls lose twice at the Laredo tournament. After losing to Laredo Nixon, 55-54, the Warrior girls lost to Laredo Alexander, 60-32.
Kennedy Youngblood had a combined 29 points in the two games.

St. Joe girls win the Industrial tournament championship, 52-25 over Needville.
Alisa Novosad led the Lady Flyers with 16 points and she was named tournament MVP. St. Joe's Maegan Marshall and Maiya Tillman, who scored nine points in the finals, made the All-Tournament team.
St. Joe boys take third place at the Bloomington tournament by beating Danbury, 70-50.
Tomas Young led the Flyers with 19 points.
