Two Industrial Athletes Sign With TLU

Posted: Updated:

Two current Industrial Cobras are now future Texas Lutheran Bulldogs. I was at Industrial as these two Cobras, Savhannah Kitchens and Logan Gabrysch, signed with TLU Monday morning. Savhannah, a two-time All-State volleyball pick by the Texas Girls Coaches Association, is on crutches because she found out after the regional tournament that she played that tournament with torn cartilage in her left knee. Savhannah has also been District MVP the past two seasons. Gabrysch has made it to state in golf his first three years at Industrial. Last spring he was individual medalist champ as the Cobras won the regional title for the first time. Gabrysch finished eighth at state last season, and he has starred on three straight Cobras golf district champs. I talked with them and their coaches. Said Kitchens, "It's amazing. It's all a blur. I'm so excited. I can't stop smiling. It's an amazing feeling and I just can't wait. " Said Gabrysch, "It's just huge. All the hard work's finally paid off. My dad told me that one day he dreamed of me being here with me to sign for a college to do something that I love to do for fun. It's just great." Said Industrial volleyball head coach Jenna Treybig, "It's good. We've had a couple of girls in the past couple of years to go on. It proves to the younger girls that with the hard work you can do it." Said Industrial A.D. Kensey Allen, "It's excellent for our program. That's our goal, to see our athletes go off and achieve great things and have the self-discipline that it takes for you to excel at that level."
