Goliad Football Loses Key Player To Injury

Posted: Updated:

Goliad football will have to go the rest of the playoffs without its number two receiver. Last Friday night, in the Tigers' Regional win over Edna at Memorial Stadium, Trevor Parr suffered a season-ending injury. It happened in the first quarter after Parr caught a pass good for a first down. At the end of the play, Goliad head coach Bobby Nicholson told me Parr's left leg was shattered. He was airlifted to San Antonio, where three medical trauma teams were on alert and were involved in the surgery process. Coach Nicholson told me Parr went through three hours of surgery and that the operation went really well. Parr had 34 catches for almost 800 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, including the Tigers' first score against the Cowboys. Parr will have to watch from the sidelines while Goliad football history is being made this Saturday night.
