City of Victoria update on state of Riverside Park

Posted: Updated:

There is still a lot of work happening in Riverside Park to get more areas of the park re-opened:

- Work will begin soon to remove dirt from the road leading to Grover’s Bend.
- AshBritt, the City’s contractor, is removing brush at Grover’s Bend and the nature trail.

We would also like to clarify some information that was posted on our Facebook page earlier this week about the Rose Garden. There was a Facebook post that indicated the Rose Garden was open; however, that is not the case. There is still maintenance work that must be done before the Rose Garden can reopen. We apologize for any confusion this caused.

These parts of Riverside Park are OPEN: the Children’s Park, The Special Events area, The Texas Zoo, the Boat Ramp and part of the disc golf course! Baskets on the disc golf course are limited to across the street from the zoo and across the street from the sand volleyball courts.

These parts of the park are still CLOSED, but work to reopen them continues: Riverside Golf Course, the Duck Pond, the Nature Trail, Fox’s Bend and Grover’s Bend.

Stay tuned for more updates about Riverside Park as more sections of the park reopen. Have a nice weekend!
