Goliad Football Regional Playoff Preview

Posted: Updated:

Goliad football has been this way before, and it's experience is showing. In a tie game in the third quarter of their 3A Division I Area playoff with Hallettsville, the Tigers broke the game open with 14 points in the third. Dontavion Clay had an 81-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first half, and followed that with a 45-yard pick-six in the fourth. I asked Goliad football head coach Bobby Nicholson what his team did to take control in the second half. "Basically we made some adjustments at halftime and it made our offense get a little bit of momentum going. Then we just played good the second half. Our defense played good all night." Goliad football is in the 3A Division I Regional playoff round for the third straight year.
