Sen. Kamala Harris makes good on World Series bet

Posted: Updated:

ABC News- Sen. Kamala Harris is a woman of her word. The California Democrat made good Tuesday on her promise to gift Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, with some of her state's finest food if the Houston Astros beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.

Harris tweeted, "Hey @TedCruz - when the @Dodgers bring that trophy home to the Golden State, lunch is on you, right? #WorldSeries2017," Harris tweeted in October.

Cruz fired a tweet back, "Looking forward to enjoying some of CA's finest food courtesy of @SenKamalaHarris once the @Astros beat the @Dodgers in the #WorldSeries!"

Armed with a couple bottles of California wine and See's Chocolate, which are manufactured in California, Harris met with Cruz and admitted defeat.

“It was an amazing series,” Sen. Cruz said. “The Dodgers played incredibly. I’m very glad today to be on the winning side and not the losing side. Wearing a Dodgers hat would be very difficult. It was a storybook series and if it had gone 20 games I think the teams would have continued trading games back and forth.”
