VICTORIA - Today, State Representative Geanie W. Morrison announced that she is seeking the Republican nomination for re-election. The Republican Primary election is March 6th.

"It's been an honor to serve House District 30 for nearly 20 years," Representative Morrison said. "Our area was dealt a serious blow by Hurricane Harvey. The recovery effort for many is just beginning, but the compassion and determination of the people in our area has been inspiring. I will continue working with federal, state and local elected officials to get us the resources we need to rebuild."

Since Hurricane Harvey, Representative Morrison has been working closely with the Governor's Commission to Rebuild Texas to secure disaster recovery resources. She is also coordinating with other elected officials, church organizations and civic groups aiding in the recovery effort.

During the 85th Legislative Session, Representative Morrison served as Chair of the House Transportation Committee. She also served on the Higher Education Committee and the Select Committee on Texas Ports, Innovation and Infrastructure. House District 30 includes Aransas, Calhoun, DeWitt, Goliad, Refugio, and Victoria Counties.
