County Judge Ben Zeller announces plans for re-election

Posted: Updated:

Before beginning his Monday duties at the courthouse and presiding over another busy meeting of Commissioners’ Court, Victoria County Judge Ben Zeller filed his application forms with Victoria County Republican Chairman Bill Pozzi for a place on the March 2018 Republican primary ballot. Pozzi accepted and signed the paperwork, and Zeller will be on the ballot next year for re-election to a second term as Victoria County Judge.

“I’m ready to run hard for re-election if there’s a contested race. We have a very strong record to run on, and I enjoy campaigning and meeting people. We’ve accomplished a lot in areas ranging from cutting county tax rates to paying down the county’s debt to improving services for veterans and county residents. I remain focused on getting real results on issues that matter to our community, and I will keep working to improve Victoria County,” Zeller said.

Judge Zeller will be hosting a barbecue this Sunday, November 19th, from 11:00am until 2:00pm at the American Legion Hall, located at 1402 E. Santa Rosa. There will be live music and other activities, and barbecue plates will be available to eat at the hall or to-go for $9. A portion of all proceeds from the event will be donated to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in Victoria County.

“It’s hard to believe that 2017 will soon be over. Things continue to be very busy at the county as we work to rebuild and recover, and also deal with projects such as the largest debris pick up our area has seen since Hurricane Carla pummeled Victoria in 1961. I want to thank people in our community for all their support, and I invite everyone to come enjoy some barbecue with us at the American Legion Hall on Sunday,” Zeller concluded.
