Toys R Us hires law firm to help weigh bankruptcy

Toys R Us has hired a restructuring firm and is evaluating a "range of options" and also did not dispute reports that a bankruptcy filing could be a possibility. This could mean the company is considering a significant number of store closings.  No one expects Toys R Us to disappear, but many agree it will need to make radical changes to survive.  In a retail environment where Walmart, Target, Amazon and others are selling toys, any missteps by Toys R Us could give competitors the edge.

An estimated 50.9 million people are expected to travel 50 miles or more to get to their holiday destinations over the four-day weekend - the most since 2005. A vast majority of those traveling for Thanksgiving will be driving - about 45.5 million, up more than three percent from last year.

      The deadline for FEMA disaster assistance has been extended to November 30th. Federal assistance includes help for temporary housing, rental assistance and repair or replacement of damaged homes for eligible individuals and families who have suffered losses as a result of Hurricane Harvey.

      The Salvation Army is preparing for another red kettle season and last they came up shy of 100 thousand and this year they want to aim for $120 thousand.
